Behind the Pen
My Road to Writing
My entire life I knew I wanted to be a teacher, as I was wrapping up my third year teaching, I got an idea. That idea led to a lot of research. After days and hours of research, I decided to act on this new idea. This idea has now become a new passion. My desire is to encourage kids through my stories and help them develop new ways to conquer this big world.
Why I Write
I write to give kids an escape from the big world. I want my books to give kids tools to use when battling anxiety. I desire to incorporate tools into my books to encourage kids who are struggling with mental health, as well as give parents tools to help their children as they face the world around them.
I aim to create illustrations that are bright and are created by me. I was always drawn to stories that used watercolor images as a child, so I desire to incorporate that in all of my books. Watercolor is magical to me and I want my books to feel whimsical and inviting.
